Dear Sir/Madam,


My name is Sergio Viula. I'm from Brazil, a country that will
soon host both the Olympic Games and the World Cup and I'm really
embarrassed by the fact that your company is sponsoring the Winter Olympic Games in Russia. Their recent anti-LGBT policies are pure outraging fascim.

How come a company that is always selling an image or respect, friendship and happiness, pour out millions of dollars into a country that has violated several human rights, especially now with those anti-LGBTlaws put into effect by President Putin?

Shame on you! Your company should be putting pression on the IOC to transfer the Games from Russia to a country where people of all sexualities and genders are treated with all due respect. Canada showed interest in hosting the games in response to the Russian homophobic-transphobic policies.

As you haven't taken a clear stand for humanism and for the opressed
Russian LGBT community, I am taking part in the international three-day boycott against yourproducts, coinciding with the time when the Olympic torch will be arriving in Russia.

OLIMPÍADAS NA RÚSSIA: 3 DIAS DE BOICOTE AOS PATROCINADORES

O boicote internacional foi programado para os dias 4, 6 e 7 de oubutbro, porque é quando a tocha olímpica chegará à Rússia. As Olimpíadas de Inverno serão realizadas na cidade de Soche. O protesto deve-se à obstinação do presidente Putin em perseguir as pessoas LGBT, sob o disfarce de uma lei que supostamente proíbe a propaganda gay, sendo considerados infratores quaisquer pessoas que falarem ou agirem fora do padrão heteronormativo e binário de gênero. Depois dessa lei e várias ações e declarações anti-LGBT do governo russo, pessoas lésbicas, gays, bissexuais e transgêneros têm passado diversos constrangimentos, violências e até encarceramento.

O mundo tem se mobilizado contra essas políticas fascistas do governo Putin, mas o Comitê Olìmpico Internacional não aceitou transferir os Jogos para outros país, mesmo sabendo que tal lei coloca em risco a vida de atletas e turistas. E mesmo que turistas e atletas fossem poupados, Olímpiadas não combinam com fascismo e disso a história já foi testemunha. Os europeus mesmo aprenderam sua lição durante a II Guerra Mundial e o mundo assistiu a mesma 'aula' de longe.

Se os patrocinadores pressionassem o Comitê Olímpico Internacional, eles certamente tomariam outra atitude, mas estes também estão apenas visando o frio lucro, exclusivamente, sem qualquer preocupação com o espírito humanista que deveria caracterizar o evento que estão dispostos a apoiar, mas que também está sendo ignorado pelos próprios organizadores.

Por isso, um boicote de três dias foi programado contra os dois principais patrocinadores: Coca-Cola e Mc Donald's. O boicote é internacional e o Brasil já tem o seu grupo incentivador.

Durante o período de 4 a 7 de outubro, não consuma qualquer produto da Coca-Cola Company (Coca, Fanta, Kuat, Del Valle, Sprite, Aquafresh, Tônica Schweppe, Powerade, I9, Burn, Água Mineral Crystal). Na dúvida, peça o que vc já sabe que é do concorrente ou parta para a água mineral Minalba; não tem erro. O boicote também tem a rede Mc Donald's como alvo. Passe longe dos restaurantes da rede. Por três dias, consuma em outro lugar. Eles precisam sentir o impacto financeiro do protesto.
